This week is "spring break" from public school here in Saskatchewan. A week off for people who want to fly south and get away from the cold. We're not snowbirds so we're spending the week in the city. Some bad luck this week though - it has turned out to be quite chilly. Today was beautiful and sunny but cold. The high was -20C. The overnight low tonight will be -33C! Maybe we need to rethink our policy of not taking warm winter vacations.
So, we did the next best thing by visiting the Regina Floral Conservatory. The Conservatory was sunny, hot, and humid inside - kind of like a little taste of the tropics in the middle of the frozen city. It was also very busy today with so many people on vacation.
Even though today is the second day of the spring break week, I was surprised by how many people were in the Conservatory. There were people at every sitting area within the greenhouse. Many people brought coffee and tea with them to sit and chat in the warmth, among the beauty of the plants and flowers.

Despite the cold, I'm very happy that we took the time today to get out of the house and head down to the Conservatory. It was a wonderful, yet small break from the winter for us. Clearly this was the case for many other people as well.
After we were done at the Conservatory, we went to London Drugs and Staples to look at computers and other stuff. Dropped by Superstore to buy a new wok and then to Booster Juice for some refreshment.
Now we're back at home and it's almost time to get supper going. What a nice day we had. Hopefully we can have another great one tomorrow by going to some other places in Regina.
