Zen: Paying Attention

"As a samurai, guess what happens when you're not paying attention?  You get whacked!!"  My favorite quote from Lotus' talk on how Zen can help us to focus our minds.

The metaphor of taking some silt-filled water and letting it sit until it settles is very apt with respect to meditation and the impact that it has on the mind.  "Zen is a practice of not interfering in what is happening."  Don't stir up the mud in your mind!

We need to study our own minds and our own consciousness.

Lotus' hearty laugh and joy for life is quite evident in this talk.
