Regina Beach Trip

This morning I went out to Regina Beach for the first time in years.  I cannot recall the last time that I was out there.  Maybe back in 2003?  Back in 1988, I spent a great deal of time in Regina Beach as my father had a motorboat and we would go fishing in Last Mountain Lake.  We would also spend some time at my uncle's old cottage.  Those were good times - even though I didn't catch even one fish that whole summer.

The boat launch next to the pier that we used back in 1988 is no longer there.  For some reason (safety perhaps), the boat launch is no longer where it used to be.  I wonder where boats are launched now?  Perhaps at the Regina Beach Yacht Club?  Despite the closure of the boat launch, there is a new feature to the north side of the pier - an inflated swimming / play structure.  This was something that I had never seen before.

We took a walk along the beach and then out to the point where there were lots of seagulls sunning themselves.  I tried to teach my kids how to skim flat stones.  They tried their best but will need to get some more practice.  I was able to skim some at least four times on one throw.  I really was hoping to get up to five but just couldn't pull that off today.

There are some great ice cream places now near the beach.  We stopped at one of the shops and had some incredibly tasty sundaes and milkshakes.  It was a great morning out in Regina Beach.
