After a couple of long plane rides we arrived safely back at home in Regina. We're currently pretty tired but glad to be at home. It is truly amazing how quickly three weeks go when you are having fun!
It is with mixed emotions that we have returned home though. Japan is such a different place: bigger economy, incredible infrastructure, intense work ethic, intense social conventions, humidity, incredible shopping, etc., etc. Canada (and Regina in particular) just seems to be very sleepy in comparison. This is both good and bad. On the one hand it is slow here at home. On the other, a home / house here is actually relatively affordable. Living in Japan or another city in Canada would be a very interesting experience but we're probably too settled in now. Maybe.......
The weather here was a bit of shock to the system when we arrived: 15C and dry. What a change from the weather that we have experienced over the past three weeks. Frankly, we're both a bit cold at the moment. It's obviously going to take a while to adjust.
Monday it is back to work and back to life as normal. Vacation cannot last forever!
